The Premise

A Greek island wedding usually ends at the port

On most islands the day is timed backwards from a boat. Guests cross in the morning, the ceremony is set so the speeches land before the last sailing, and by ten o’clock half the room is checking a ferry app instead of watching you. The party doesn’t end. It gets caught.

A wedding here takes the whole hillside — both houses, no one else on it. Thirty-six people sleep inside the gate. Nobody drives back to a hotel, nobody slips out during the toasts, and the last boat is somebody else’s problem.

Thirty-six is the sleeping number. It is not the dinner number — those are different questions, and the grounds answer the second one.

The Venue

The reception is always at Aelia

The party happens around the 14 × 7 metre pool — the diving board at one end, the jacuzzi and the children’s area at the other, and the Saronic laid out behind the stone balustrade. The stone pool bar and the BBQ mean the bar and the caterers have somewhere to work that isn’t your dance floor.

The pool house is the part nobody thinks about until the forecast turns: a second full kitchen, indoor sitting and dining, a fireplace and its own WC, a few steps from the water. Back-of-house on a dry night, and a roof on a wet one — one you don’t have to hire.

The Second House

Melitta comes with it

A wedding at Aelia takes Melitta too. That isn’t an upsell — it is how the hillside works. With both houses booked there is nobody else on the property, and sixteen more of your people sleep a short walk from the party.

Melitta is not a second reception space. It is the house you get ready in, while the flowers go up at Aelia and nobody steps over anybody. It has its own infinity pool and a hot tub set into the stone. On the Sunday it becomes the brunch house.

Friday

Arrival

Boats through the afternoon, cars up from the port. Keys, rooms, the first swim before anyone has unpacked. Dinner at the pools, or the whole party walks down to the fish tavernas on the Perdika waterfront. Nobody wears anything formal, and the people who arrive last still get a night with everyone.

Saturday

The day

Getting ready at Melitta while the decorators work at Aelia. The ceremony in the late afternoon, when the light drops. Drinks around the pool, dinner as the sun goes, then the pool bar and the hours after that. There is no next booking and no other guests on the property. Guests go to bed by walking upstairs.

Sunday

The slow one

Nobody sets an alarm. Brunch at Melitta for as long as it takes, the last swim, and boats when people feel like it rather than before. The day most couples say they remember as clearly as the wedding itself.

The Table

Your caterer, or ours

We work with caterers and event organisers on the island and will introduce you to them. If you already have someone you trust, bring them — the pool house and the bar give any kitchen somewhere real to work from.

Above thirty-six, the rest of your guests sleep in Perdika or in Aegina Town, minutes away. We manage a great many properties on this island, and we will put options in front of you rather than leaving you to search.

The practical ones

How many can we have?

Up to 250 guests on the grounds. Thirty-six of them sleep on site across the two houses; the rest stay nearby.

What if we are far fewer than 250?

Then the hillside simply feels bigger. Two hundred and fifty is the ceiling, not the expectation — smaller weddings use the same grounds with more room around every table.

Do we have to book both villas?

Yes. A wedding at Aelia includes Melitta. It means the hillside is yours alone for the whole weekend — no other guests, no shared pool, no timetable but your own.

Can we bring our own caterer?

Yes. We also have partners on the island we can introduce you to, if you would rather not arrange it yourself.

How do guests get here?

Forty minutes by boat from Piraeus, then about fifteen by road from Aegina port. Close enough that guests from Athens can come for the weekend without it becoming a trip abroad.

How many nights do we need?
